Anne Elizabeth at Cheras: Review



This deli-restaurant helmed by husband-&-wife team Jacob & Sandra is worth a visit for carnivores in Cheras. Make your selection from a broad variety of meat & seafood that’s on display, then have the kitchen cook a protein-packed meal for you.

The Pork

Our best bets here are all about pork: The smoked back bacon is fabulous – thickly sliced, irreproachably tender & bombarded with savoury flavour (RM17.90 per glorious piece). The pork belly (RM15.20) is a pleasure too – exactly what we were hoping for when we ordered it. To complete the hearty platter, try a warm bacon salad (RM6.90) on the side to balance out the meat.

For Vegetarians

There’s something for everyone – if you’re going vegetarian, Anne Elizabeth serves a cranberry salad that’s brimming with many, many more berries than expected (RM6.90) & a creamy-hot roasted tomato soup (RM9) that’s clearly not from a can.

No scarcity of sausages, constructed with pork or lamb (a bratwurst costs RM8.50) – juicy enough, but probably not the stars of this show. Other reasonable options for a warm meal include spicy pasta aglio olio loaded with lamb shoulder (RM18.80), an interesting fish gratin heaped in a claypot, crowned with a carb-overload of mashed potatoes (RM24.90), & portobello mushrooms stuffed with bacon & oozing with cheese (RM12.90). Bring your own wine; the corkage charge is RM30 or less.
